Say what you ate. Get on with your day.

Speak, type or add a photo, and YumLog estimates the calories, protein, carbs and fat. It shows the portions it assumed, so you can fix a guess in a sentence. Your phone and watch share the same log, and the watch is optional.

You, to your Apple Watch

Two eggs and toast with butter for breakfast.

Tap the mic on your Apple Watch and say it. YumLog stops listening when you do, and that’s breakfast logged, with the portions it assumed. No searching for the right toast, and no stop button to remember.

You, before you order

Can I fit a burger and fries in for lunch?

YumLog looks up the restaurant’s published nutrition and shows what you’d have left for the day. Asking doesn’t log it. When you decide, “do that” adds the meal and updates your totals.

You, with your usual

JD.

Give something you have often a name. “JD” is half juice, half water, and that’s all you need to say. Your Library grows as you log, with your usuals, recipes and notes, like milk in your coffee some days and cream on others.

You, when it guessed wrong

Actually, it was three eggs.

That updates the meal you already logged, and your totals. Or press and hold any entry to edit it or move it to another meal.

You, with a photo

I ate half.

A photo saves describing the whole plate. YumLog estimates the ingredients and portions, and shows how it got to the numbers. Labels work too, and a few words help.

You, in the evening

How am I doing this week?

YumLog sums up your log, with your calorie average and how your weight is changing. The calendar shows each day, and Progress looks back over 30 days, 90 days or a year.

You, after the scale

Log my weight, 172.4.

Apple Health is optional. YumLog reads your weight, including readings from a connected scale, and writes your meals, nutrients and the weigh-ins you log back to Health.

Today, your calories left are a Rainbow Roll.

Logging can have a little personality. The food ring shows your calories left and gets eaten as you log, with your protein, carbs and fat underneath. Pick your ring and app icon: three rings are free, and the rest come with the subscription.

Questions, answered

How much does YumLog cost?

Logging by hand is always free: add your own foods, or Quick Add one you’ve saved. The subscription covers the AI features, logging what you say, type or snap and answering your questions, with a 7-day free trial in the app. Cancel any time in your Apple account. Three ring styles are free; the rest come with the subscription.

Do I have to use the AI?

No, it’s optional. Before its first use, YumLog explains what’s shared and asks your permission. Say no and you can keep logging by hand.

How accurate is it?

These are estimates, from nutrition labels, standard food tables and restaurants’ published nutrition. YumLog shows what it assumed, like “medium portion” or “cooked weight,” so you can correct it in a sentence. The value is in seeing how you’re eating, and the patterns over time.

Do I need a calorie goal?

No. Calorie and macro goals are optional. Set targets that help you, or leave them off and keep a simple food log.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No, the watch is optional. On iPhone you can speak, type or add a photo. The watch is just the quickest way to log, and you can ask Siri or check your watch face and the Smart Stack too.

What happens to my data and photos?

There are no ads, and we never sell your data. Anthropic doesn’t train Claude on YumLog’s data. Meal photos are deleted after 30 days, and you can delete your account and its data in the app (Profile › Account › Delete Account). The details are in our privacy policy.

Where can I get it?

YumLog is coming to the App Store in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand first. It needs iOS 26, and watchOS 26 for the watch app.

I started by logging food with ChatGPT, and ended up building the app I wanted to use. It’s just me working on it, so feedback comes straight to me at support@yumlog.dev.
