Terms of Use
Last updated October 12, 2026
The short version.
- YumLog’s numbers are estimates, not medical advice.
- After a 7-day free trial it’s a subscription through Apple, which you can cancel any time.
- Your log is yours. Use YumLog for yourself, fairly, and don’t abuse it.
These terms are an agreement between you and Product LLC, a California limited liability company (“we”), which makes YumLog under the name product.inc. They cover the YumLog apps for iPhone and Apple Watch and the YumLog service they connect to. By using YumLog you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
Who can use YumLog
You must be 18 or older, and able to agree to these terms. You need an Apple Account to sign in, and an internet connection for logging and answers.
Estimates, not medical advice
YumLog estimates calories and nutrients from what you tell it, nutrition labels, food tables and restaurants’ published information. Estimates can be wrong: portions are guesses, recipes vary, and published numbers change. YumLog always says what it assumed, so check its numbers when they matter.
YumLog is a logging tool, not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical, nutritional or dietary advice, including the calorie goal it suggests. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before you change how you eat, especially if you have, or have had, an eating disorder; if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you manage a condition such as diabetes, heart or kidney disease. Don’t use YumLog for allergies or anything where a wrong number could hurt you, and never in an emergency.
Answers come from AI
YumLog’s replies are written by an AI model (see the Privacy Policy for which provider and what it receives). AI can misunderstand you or be confidently wrong. You’re responsible for what you decide to eat and do, and for checking anything important.
Subscriptions
- New subscribers can try YumLog free for 7 days. After that, it’s a monthly or yearly subscription.
- Payment goes through your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The price is shown in the App Store before you buy and may vary by country.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, including the free trial. Manage or cancel them in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.
- Deleting the app or your YumLog account doesn’t cancel the subscription; cancel it with Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- If we change the price, Apple tells you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
Fair use
YumLog is for your own, personal logging. Each request costs us real money to answer, so we may limit unusually heavy use to keep YumLog running for everyone.
Your content
What you log, say, type and photograph stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it, and to send it to our service providers, only to run YumLog for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Only send photos you have the right to share.
Please don’t
- Use YumLog for anything unlawful, or for anyone but yourself.
- Try to reach other people’s data, or get around limits or security.
- Overload, scrape, copy, resell or reverse engineer YumLog, or use it to build a competing product.
- Use YumLog’s answers to harm yourself or anyone else.
If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. We’ll tell you why, unless the law stops us.
The app and Apple
The YumLog app is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it and cover the YumLog service: your account, the assistant and the data behind them. We, not Apple, are responsible for YumLog and its support.
Changes to YumLog and these terms
YumLog will change as we improve it; we may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change applies. If you keep using YumLog after that, the new terms apply. You can stop at any time.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile › Delete Account). We may stop offering YumLog; if we do, we’ll give you reasonable notice and the chance to get a copy of your data.
Warranty and liability
YumLog is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on YumLog. Our total liability for any claim about YumLog is limited to the greater of what you paid for YumLog in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived where you live.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them at home.
